Need for speed the mother of invention

TEXAS CITY Clemon Prevost is an electronic technician during working hours. In his off time, he is an automobile buff.
These days he has a new title - inventor. The 47-year old Texas city man recently received a patent for a radiator cooling
system he created as part of a system that allows what he calls the world's most mightiest engine to power a Porsche. For years Prevost
said he had wanted to put a high-performance engine into his Porsche, which comes with a six cylinder engine.
"I could never do it, because those engines were so heavy, I'd have had to rebuild, the entire suspension, system,"he said.
Months ago, Prevost took a friend's 2000 Corvette for a drive, and said he could not believe the car's power and speed. I was getting
better than 100 miles an hour in third gear, hes said. My friend told me it was the new LS1 engine, the best engine Chevrolet had ever
made. The next weekend, I saw the engine at a swap meet in Houston, and I asked the guy what it was. He said, "That's the new
LS1,"and I said, "Oh , I've got to have it." Because of its aluminum casing, the LS1 is lighter by 75
pounds than his Porsche engine, and offers nearly three times the power, he said. When he called the, top conversion experts
in the United States, however, he was told there was no way the engine would fit in his Porsche. The guy from California said, "Look,
if I say it cant be done, it can't be done. "Thirty one days later, I rolled mine out of the garage, "Prevost said.
Looking at the incredulity his conversion process created in the automotive world made Prevost think he was on to something unique.
"I remember thinking, I must have the only one of these in the world." That's what gave me the idea to seek a patent," Prevost said.
Prevost took the idea to a Houston patent attorny, who told him the conversion did not rate a patent as a unique invention, but said the
radiator cooling system Prevost had created could qualify. Soon after, Prevost became the owner of a plaque from the U.S. Patent
Office. "Ive actually invented a few things in my work as an electronic technician, but those
all belong to the companies I worked for. "This was one of the first time I ever did something that was for me," he said. The
system is self contained, and fits in and on the rear of the car, where Porsche engines reside. It regulates temperature by
cooling the radiator once an internal thermostat reaches 180 F. The result is what Prevost called one of the fastest cars in the world,
one that could reach 230 miles per hour. "Im serious, With a million-dollar budget, I challenge you to buy a faster
car," he said. The car will not reach that speed too often. "No this one's not for racing," he said laughing." "This is my wife's
car to take to work."

The New and Improved
Patented Rear Radiator Wing Design
This new wing is quite different. It is all "All fiberglass". The black part of the tail can be painted to looks like
rubber. The wing pictured is painted with a flat black rubber pigmentated paint. The reason for eliminating the
rubber is to make the wing much lighter.

DISADVANTAGES OF THE CONVENTIONAL V8
CONVERSION KIT COOLING SYSTEM
The front spoiler beneath the bumper of the automobile must be modified to install new body panels beneath
the bumper to provide an airway to cool the front-mounted radiator. To install the front-mounted radiator you
must cut out the trunk section of the vehicle, relocate the battery, and in some cases: the gas tank must be
removed then cut in half to make room for the front-mounted radiator (this procedure makes it difficult to
restore the vehicle back to its factor condition if desired). Your safety is compromised by having to run
exposed water hoses beneath the vehicle from the front of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle to provide
coolant from the radiator to the engine.
ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW AND IMPROVED TOY-JET HIGH
PERFORMANCE COOLING SYSTEM
The front of the automobile does not have to be modified. Under no circumstances does the battery have to be
relocated, nor the gas tank removed and cut in half to make room for a front mounted radiator. Water hoses do
not have to be run from the front of the automobile to the rear in order to provide coolant from the radiator to
the engine. The single most advantageous benefit of the ToyJet cooling system is the fact that if a radiator hose
were to accidentally burst (while doing your 180 mph +) it would burst behind the rear wheels (since the
radiator is rear mounted and all hoses are past the back wheels) lessening the danger of you going out of
control because of slippery antifreeze on your rear wheels.
The Toyjet High Performance Cooling System :
The radiator is mounted at the rear of the automobile affixed to the rear Deck Lid. There is an inlet and
outlet conduit (such as a water hose), in order to transfer cooled engine coolant from the radiator to the
engine. There are two 2.5 inche holes which must be drilled into the rear decklid to run the coolant hoses
from the radiator to the engine. There is an electrically operated fan disposed adjacent the radiator for
moving air through the radiator. There is an electrically operated water pump for moving coolant through
the system. Accordingly, the radiator system can be virtually concealed. It is recommended to mount the
Toy-Jet cooling system to a spare decklid to allow you to store your original decklid in a safe place to enable
you to re-store your vehicle to its original state if desired.

New Radiator Wing Improvements
The new and improved wing remains all fiberglass (wing and deck-lid all in one) and it is constructed lighter
than its predecessor for less rear-end weight.
The wing is 3 inches longer.
The added length moves the radiator farther towards the rear of the wing so hot radiator air is not allowed to blow on top
of the engine. There is also more room as a result of this extra length to install the rear factory AC condenser.
The wing is 3 inches taller at the rear.
This added height positions the radiator to a more level position to for better air purging of the system.
This added height also moves the radiator farther away from the deck-lid latch area for better radiator to fan airflow.
The fan is now almost completely concealed. The added height lastly created more space between the engine and the AC
condenser to allow two 7-inch fans to be affixed to the condenser to enhance better AC cooling.
